Lizzie Daiss

Lizzie Daiss Illustration - Savannah, GA

Lizzie Daiss makers retreat packaging
I was raised in Miami, and I come from a long line of artists who all work in a variety of disciplines. I grew up being surrounded by art of all different kinds, and now I get to make all kinds of my own!
I'm inspired by everything from vintage housewares to impressionist painters and cute little potted plants find their way into my work. Nostalgia for vintage ephemera like old postage stamps and children's books brings me so much joy.

Lizzie is an Illustrator and packaging genius. Having worked in the paper and printing industries she understands what's possible for your products and always finds creative ways to display products. She will be giving us a glimpse of her process and teaching us how to think more about the importance, use, and possibility of packaging.

The Location

We will also have the full range of the 130 acre property of the Wesley gardens Retreat Center which includes waterside views, trails, and nooks to hide away and think. This space will give us plenty room to spread out and be adequately distanced.

We want you to stay and enjoy the day so we will be providing coffee and snack in the morning as well as lunch, though you are welcome to bring any of your own as well. If you have any dietary restrictions you can let us know in your registration form.

Our hope for this retreat is that you will also have time to reflect on your own business, that you will be inspired by the area and other attendees, and that you will have time to mingle and brainstorm with your fellow makers to better both your businesses.

I'm just starting my business and am not an LLC, is this for me?

YES! We are gearing this Makers Retreat for those who have just started or want to take the next step in their business goals.

What precautions are you taking for COVID19?

We will be requesting attendees to wear masks whenever they are inside the building and within 6 feet of other. When on the grounds you are welcome to remove your mask. We will also have hand sanitizer and sinks available.

Do I need to/ can I bring my own food?

We will be providing snacks, coffee, and lunch, but you are welcome to bring your own food, especially if you have dietary restrictions.

Will this be indoor or outdoor?

Both. The majority of our time will be spent inside for presentations, but the whole are will be available at any time to explore.

If I'm not interested in all the speakers do I have to sit through their presentations?

While we have specifically chosen this lineup to help give you a well-rounded day if there is a topic that does not interest you you are more than welcome to use that time to explore, think, and otherwise relax on the grounds.

Is my dog allowed?

We love furry friends, but animals are not allowed inside buildings at Wesley Gardens so we suggest you leave them home. Service animals excepted, of course.

Can my business partner come for free?

Unfortunately because of our restricted capacity we are charging per individual, not per business. So even though you may be under the same company you will need to pay for each attendee individually.

I cannot afford the $80 fee, but want to attend. What can I do?

We are offering a community based scholarship program that will be funded by the other makers attending. They are given the opportunity to donate on top of their attendance fee to help cover those who cannot afford it. This will be given on a first come first served basis and only the amount donated will be given out. Please notate your request on your registration form.
